What can I expect from the terrain?

The course is set on the paved paths around Green Lake, which is a classic, flat loop. If you are hunting for a personal best, the lack of elevation is your best friend. However, be warned: because it is a loop format, the Half Marathon runners will eventually deal with "traffic." You will likely encounter faster runners lapping you, or you might find yourself lapping others. Stay aware of your surroundings and keep your lines tight.

Should I prepare for heat or cold?

June in Seattle is beautiful but fickle. At an 8:00 AM start, expect mild temperatures—likely in the mid-50s to low 60s (Fahrenheit). It’s perfect running weather, but don't be caught off guard by a sudden Pacific Northwest drizzle. Bring a light layer you can ditch easily once the gun goes off.

How is the support on the course?

Since you are running in a loop, you aren't wandering miles away from civilization. Water stations are positioned roughly every 1.5 miles. It’s a self-serve setup, so be prepared to grab your own hydration and keep moving. The 3.5-hour cutoff is generous enough for most, but keep an eye on your pace if you are aiming for the longer distances.

What are my options for distance?

You can choose between a 5K, 10K, 15K, or Half Marathon. All distances kick off simultaneously at 8:00 AM. If you want the most "pure" running experience with the least amount of mental fatigue, the 5K or 10K is great. If you want to test your endurance in a controlled, predictable environment, the Half Marathon is the way to go. Virtual options are also available if you can't make it to Seattle.
