Murray Bridge Running Festival 2026

What can I expect from the course profile?

It is unapologetically flat. The Half Marathon has only about 55m of total elevation, and the 10km sits at 43m. This isn't a course that will break your legs, but it also won't give you much scenery to distract you from the grind. It's a pure speed course. You can check out the route via Strava ↗.

What are my options for distance and timing?

You have four distinct choices, but the Half Marathon is the flagship.

• Half Marathon (21.1km): Starts at 7:30 AM. Best for those chasing a time.
• 10km Run: Starts at 8:00 AM. A solid middle ground.
• 5km Spooky Halloween Fun Run: Starts at 8:15 AM. More of a social vibe.
• 1.5km Kids Dash: Starts at 8:20 AM. Free and easy.

Will the weather be an issue?

Early November in South Australia is generally pleasant, but it can be deceptive. Expect crisp, cool morning temperatures—likely in the low teens (Celsius)—that will warm up as you finish. Bring a light layer for the start line at Sturt Reserve; you won't need it once your heart rate climbs.

How much is this going to set me back?

The pricing is exceptionally fair, especially if you book early.

• Half Marathon: $59 (Early Bird ends 31 July) up to $75 (Late).
• 10km: $35 (Early Bird) up to $45 (Late).
• 5km: $20 (Early Bird) up to $30 (Late).
• Note: If you wait until after 1 October to register, you might miss out on getting your finisher medal on time.

What do I get for crossing the finish line?

Every runner in the main distances gets a finisher medal. If you are competing for the podium, medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both Open and Veteran categories. The kids' dash is even more relaxed: no bibs required, and everyone is a winner (plus a Zooper Dooper at the finish).

What do I need to know about the race day flow?

The event is well-structured with clear cutoff times. The Half Marathon has an 8:30 min/km cutoff, while the 10km and 5km allow for a much more leisurely 12:30 min/km. The event village at Sturt Reserve is situated between the playground and skate park, offering coffee and refreshments to help you recover. Just ensure you are at the chute early; for the Half Marathon, it opens at 7:15 AM for a 7:30 AM gun start.
