2026 Jack Bristol Lake Waramaug Ultra Races
The 2026 Jack Bristol Lake Waramaug Ultra Races will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Lake Waramaug State Park in Kent, Connecticut. Participants can expect a scenic road course featuring a rolling but primarily flat paved route around the lake. Late April in Kent typically brings mild spring weather, though runners should prepare for variable temperatures and the possibility of spring showers. This legendary event, celebrating its 52nd anniversary, offers multiple ultra-distance challenges sanctioned by USATF.
What race distances and start times are available?
- →100K: 6:30 AM start (13-hour time limit)
- →50 Mile: 6:30 AM start (13-hour time limit)
- →50K: 7:30 AM start (12-hour time limit)
How is the race course structured?
The course is a paved road route around Lake Waramaug designed to be PR-friendly. All runners begin with a 2.2-mile clockwise out-and-back segment before transitioning to a 7.6-mile counter-clockwise loop. The distances are completed as follows:
- →50K: 3 laps plus a 1.9-mile out-and-back to finish at the State Park
- →50 Mile: 6 laps, finishing at the State Park
- →100K: 7 laps plus a 2.3-mile out-and-back to finish at the State Park
Where are the aid stations located?
There are four well-stocked aid stations positioned around the lake. Distances from the main start/finish area are:
- →Em and M (1st station): 1.8 miles
- →BURCS (2nd station): 3.7 miles (1.9 miles from the 1st station)
- →CULTRA (3rd station): 5.4 miles (1.7 miles from the 2nd station)
- →Main Start/Finish: 7.6 miles (2.2 miles from the 3rd station)
