Denali50K 2026
The Denali50K 2026 is scheduled for June 21, 2026, taking place along the historic Denali Highway from Maclaren Summit to Cantwell, Alaska. Participants will navigate a 50K gravel road course through a landscape of thermokarst, eskers, and kettle lakes, with the Alaska Range providing a constant backdrop. In late June at Maclaren Summit, weather conditions typically feature long daylight hours and daytime temperatures ranging from cool to mild, though rapid changes in mountain weather are common. This endurance event offers a technical gravel road experience through some of the most scenic terrain in North America.

The race is held along the historic Denali Highway, running from Paxson to Cantwell, USA. The course descends from the Maclaren Summit toward the Maclaren River. The terrain consists of gravel roads passing through glacial remnants including thermokarst, eskers, and kettle lakes, with views of the Alaska Range.
What is the event schedule for June 21, 2026?
- →7:15 AM: Mandatory Pre-Race Briefing at Maclaren Summit Starting Line
- →8:00 AM: Race Start at Maclaren Summit
- →5:00 PM: Race Cut-off at Alpine Creek Lodge (9-hour maximum time)
What are the qualification requirements for runners?
To be eligible, applicants must have completed at least three marathons within the previous two years. At least one of these must be a trail marathon, unless a waiver is granted by the Race Director. All qualifying race details must be submitted by May 1, 2026.
What awards are provided to participants?
- →All finishers under the 9-hour limit receive a handmade Alaskan finisher's medal and a Denali 50K finisher's shirt
- →Special awards are presented to the overall men's and women's winners
Are there support options or shuttles available?
- →Individual runners are permitted to have an optional support crew or vehicle
- →A shuttle is available from the finish line (Alpine Creek Lodge) to the starting line (Maclaren Summit) for $25, which must be pre-purchased
- →Pacers are only allowed with prior approval from the Race Director
Is there an aid station on the course?
- →There is one aid station located at Mile 18 of the course at the Clearwater Creek Wayside.

Is there any post-race programming?
- →A post-race party and dinner will be held on June 23 at 6:00 PM in Talkeetna (location TBA). Proceeds from this event benefit the Denali Education Center.
