What is the course terrain and layout?

The race takes place entirely on the Cedar to Green River Trail, which consists of a flat, paved multi-use path. The course follows an out-and-back format (or multiple out-and-back segments) on a straight trail with very minimal elevation change. This layout is ideal for maintaining a steady pace but requires significant mental toughness due to the repetitive nature of the path.

Where are the turnaround points located?

• →Half Marathon & Marathon: mile 6.55
• →50K: mile 7.77

Are there course markings provided?

The course is marked using pink ribbons, stakes, and chalk. However, runners are strongly advised to use GPS to ensure they stay on track, as missing turnarounds is a known issue. Note that the course may measure slightly short (approximately 0.1 mi) if runners follow tight tangents.

What should runners expect regarding the race atmosphere?

This is a grassroots, no-frills event focused purely on running and simple logistics. It is a high-value, low-cost race that prioritizes PR-style pacing over scenery changes or high-energy crowds. Due to the repetitive, straight stretches, it is considered a test of mental endurance, particularly for the 50K distance.
