While the 7:30 AM start helps you beat the worst of the midday sun, the moisture in the air will make it feel much hotter than the thermometer suggests. Dress in ultra-light, moisture-wicking gear and don't skip the electrolyte replenishment. If you aren't a fan of heavy humidity, this isn't your race.

What are my options for distance and timing?

You have four choices: a 1 Mile Fun Run, 5K, 10K, or 13.1-mile Half Marathon. Because the event uses waves (starting at 7:30, 8:00, and 8:30 AM), you won't be fighting through a massive pack of elites. If you want the most scenic experience with the least amount of "racing" stress, the 5K or 10K are the sweet spots.

How much is this going to set me back?

The pricing is surprisingly reasonable for a US race. A 5K is $40.22 and the 10K is $45.52. If you're traveling and don't need the swag, the "Eco option" drops the 5K to $32.80. It’s a fair deal, especially considering the "low-pressure" atmosphere you're paying for.

What do I actually get for my registration?

How organized should I expect the race day to be?

Don't come looking for a massive expo or high-tech infrastructure. This is a small-scale event with capped participants and minimal "race control." There is no pre-race packet pickup, so you'll be getting your bib on race day. It’s perfect if you want a "run and go" experience, but if you need a highly structured, massive-scale production with a huge bag drop and endless aid stations, you might find the simplicity a bit jarring.
