What event formats and distances are offered?

The event features two distinct trail race formats:

• →50K: An out-and-back course covering approximately 29 miles of trail plus 1 mile of pavement. The route traverses the Ozark National Forest, passing through the Blanchard Springs Recreation Area, Gunner Pool, and Barkshed camping area, with creek crossings near mile 2 and mile 30.
• →25K: An out-and-back course covering approximately 14.5 miles of trail plus 1 mile of pavement. The course is nestled around Blanchard Springs Caverns and includes two water crossings of Sylamore Creek at roughly the 2-mile and 14.5-mile points.

What is the event schedule?

The event schedule is as follows:

• →Check-In (Friday, February 13, 2026): 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the front porch of Anglers Restaurant.
• →Check-In (Saturday, February 14, 2026): From 6:00 a.m. at Anglers Restaurant.
• →50K Race Start: 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.
• →25K Race Start: 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

What are the course characteristics and terrain?

Both races are held on trail terrain within the Ozark National Forest near Blanchard Springs. Participants should expect:

• →Technical singletrack sections.
• →Rugged terrain with rocky stretches and rolling forest hills.
• →Creek crossings (Sylamore Creek is crossed twice in each race, approximately at mile 2 and mile 14.5 for the 25K, and mile 2 and mile 30 for the 50K).
• →Brief sections of pavement (approximately 1 mile total per race).

What awards and prizes are provided?

• →Finisher Recognition: Every finisher receives a Sylamore Race finisher pint glass.
• →Overall Prizes: Prizes are awarded to the Overall Male and Female Finishers in both the 50K and 25K categories.

• →Weather Policy: There is no inclement weather policy; the event will proceed regardless of temperature, precipitation, or creek levels.
