The Old Pueblo Endurance Runs are one of the oldest trail ultramarathons in Arizona, having been founded in 1985 by local trail running pioneers. What is the course like?

The course is a 25-mile loop on forest service roads and singletrack trails, part of the Arizona Trail system. The 50-mile runners complete two loops. The course starts and finishes at the historic mining site of Kentucky Camp, with elevation ranging between 4,031' and 6,232'. The average grade is 6%, and the course includes a notable descent through Fish Canyon from Melendrez Pass to Cave Creek Aid Station. Mount Wrightson, standing at 9,452', is a key landmark visible throughout most of the run.

What are the registration requirements?

Participants must be at least 18 years old to enter. Discounts are available for Native Americans, active duty military, law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders by contacting the race director via the official website. No refunds are offered, but up to 5 deferrals to the following year are available on a first-come basis.

What is included in the registration?

All finishers receive awards, sponsor swag, and an invitation to the post-race cookout. Runners also receive a reusable, collapsible cup at packet pickup, sponsored by Hammer Nutrition, making this a cupless event.
