Run Shellharbour 2026 takes place on Sunday, 17 May 2026, at Eric Creary Park, located on the north side of the Shellharbour Surf Lifesaving Club in Shellharbour, New South Wales. Participants can expect mild temperatures and low humidity characteristic of the late Australian autumn, providing ideal conditions for personal best attempts. This bi-annual road race offers a variety of distances set against a predominantly flat course that hugs the scenic NSW South Coast shoreline, featuring uninterrupted views of the lake and ocean.

What race distances are available?

  • 42.2km Marathon (2 laps)
  • 21.1km Half Marathon — The Harbour Half (1 lap)
  • 10km (1 lap)
  • 5km Fun Run (1 lap, out and back)

What are the age requirements for each distance?

  • 42.2km Marathon: Minimum age 18+
  • 21.1km Half Marathon: Minimum age 16+
  • 10km: Minimum age 12+
  • 5km Fun Run: Open to all ages (children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult)

Which age categories are eligible for awards?

  • Men and Women categories: 18–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+

What prizes and medals are provided?

  • Finisher medals are awarded to all participants across all race distances.
  • Podium medals (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) are awarded per age category for the 5km, 10km, 21.1km, and 42.2km events.

What facilities are available on the course?

  • Drink Stations: Located approximately every 2.5km, providing water and Dragon Fuel (Essential Amino Acids + electrolytes).
  • Toilets: Available at Eric Creary Park North (1km), Warilla Surf Club (3.5km), Reddall Reserve (4.5km and 5km Kiosk), PCYC Club (8.5km), and Skiway Park (10km), with mirrored stations on return legs for longer distances.
  • Bag Drop: Located at the Event Village; bags must be personally labeled with the participant's race bib number.
  • Medical: Professional medical staff are stationed at the start/finish zones and throughout the course.

What are the race rules and safety regulations?

  • No pets, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or rollerblades are permitted on the course.
  • Personal music devices should be kept at a low volume so participants can hear marshal directions.
  • All participants must follow the approved course and obey all traffic controllers.
  • Prams and joggers are welcome for the 5km Fun Run but must be individually registered.

What is the refund policy?

  • More than 8 weeks before the event: 75% refund
  • 4–7 weeks before the event: 50% refund
  • 4 weeks or less: No refund
  • On race day: No refund
  • Distance downgrades: No refund on the price difference
  • Distance upgrades: Price difference plus processing fees are payable, subject to availability
