Reesor 50 2026

The Reesor 50 Ultraranch Festival takes place from May 15–17, 2026, at the Historic Reesor Ranch in the Cypress Hills of Saskatchewan, Canada. Located near Maple Creek, the event unfolds across a diverse landscape of rolling meadows, dense forests, conglomerate cliffs, and dramatic coulees. In mid-May, the region typically experiences mild spring weather with daytime temperatures ranging from 10°C to 18°C (50°F to 65°F), though evening temperatures can drop significantly, and occasional spring showers are possible. Participants can expect a rugged, mixed-terrain experience ranging from pure trail running to dirt road segments, all set within one of Saskatchewan's oldest working ranches.

• →Reesor 50 (Saturday, May 16): 81 km (50 miles), 75% Trail and 25% Dirt Road
• →Reesor Mountain Marathon (Saturday, May 16): 42.5 km, 70% Trail and 30% Dirt Road

What is the event schedule?

• →Friday, May 15: Sundown 10 starts at 6:30 PM
• →Saturday, May 16: Reesor 50 starts at 8:00 AM
• →Saturday, May 16: Reesor Mountain Marathon starts at 9:00 AM
• →Saturday, May 16: Dinner is served from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (later for runners still on course)

What are the meal options and costs?

• →Saturday Breakfast (May 16): Pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, and juice or coffee — $25 (included for all volunteers)
• →Saturday Dinner (May 16): 8oz New York Strip steak, baked potato, and garden salad (vegetarian: stuffed bell pepper) — Included with 50 Mile and Marathon entries; $35 for extra meals
• →Sunday Breakfast (May 17): Pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit, and juice or coffee — $25

What are the race cutoffs and aid station details?

• →Reesor 50: 18-hour cutoff (2:00 AM). Includes 6 fully stocked aid stations, 2 water-only stations, and finish line aid.
• →Reesor Mountain Marathon: 10-hour cutoff (7:00 PM). Includes 3 fully stocked aid stations and finish line aid.
• →Sundown 10: Starts at 6:30 PM with a halfway point aid station providing beverages (water and pop); runners must bring their own snacks.

What are the accommodation options?

• →Historic Reesor Ranch B&B or Private Cabins: Requires a 2-night minimum (reservations opened September 20, 2025)
• →Festival Camping: Tent or vehicle camping at the ranch for $40 per vehicle for the weekend (must be added to registration by May 1, 2026). Facilities include bathrooms, porta-potties, and showers.
• →Nearby: Camping at Cypress Hills, Elkwater, and Reesor Lake; hotels and condos in Elkwater; accommodations in Maple Creek and Medicine Hat.

What is the refund and transfer policy?

• →Full refund: Available until February 1, 2026
• →50% refund: Available until April 1, 2026 (subject to a $5 fee)
• →No refunds: After April 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM
• →Distance changes: Allowed until May 1, 2026 (subject to a $5 fee)
• →Transfers: No person-to-person bib transfers allowed; all changes must be completed via Race Roster

Are there volunteer opportunities?

• →Sundown 10 runners can opt to run and volunteer to receive a 25% discount on race fees. Failure to fulfill the volunteer commitment results in a $35 charge.
