What can I expect from the route?

The course is a beautiful mix of coastal road running and brief, tricky sections of sand or grass at the start of the longer distances. The Half Marathon and 14km routes offer incredible views along Curl Curl and Collaroy, but the real story is the finish. Every distance eventually funnels toward the Newport Beach finish line, which requires tackling the Barrenjoey Road hill. It’s a steep, psychological test at the end of a long day. Which distance should I pick?

If you want the "real" experience, the Half Marathon is the gold standard here, starting in Dee Why and offering the most comprehensive coastal loop. For families or those looking for a light jog, the 6km (starting at Rat Park) and 3km (starting at Mona Vale) are much more manageable and avoid the early sand/grass sections.

What is the weather like on race morning?

You’ll want layers for the start, but once you’re moving along the coast, the sun can warm you up quickly. The pricing follows a standard tiered structure, and it gets significantly more expensive the longer you wait. For the Half Marathon, you're looking at A$80 (Early Bird) up to A$105 (Late). How do I handle the race day setup?

The organization is seasoned, having run since 1994. For the Half Marathon, the early birds need to be at the Dee Why Surf Club by 5:00 AM for bag drop. If you are worried about pace, they provide pacers for the Half, 14km, and 6km distances, covering ranges from 4:00 to 6:30 min/km.
