What is the Mountain Sheep Canyon Run?

The course features a scramble descent into a slot canyon of Mountain Sheep Canyon and finishes with a downhill wash run back to the start/finish. The course has an elevation gain of 850 feet and a descent of 850 feet.

What can participants expect on the 5K course?

The 5K course is a lollipop-style loop that starts on sand double track, runs into a wash, and through a slot in Owl Canyon. The course then pops back out to double track for the finish. The effort rating for this course is easy to easy-medium.

What is the hydration policy for this event?

This is a cupless race, meaning participants must bring their own water bottle or hydration pack. No disposable cups are provided on the course. For the 10 Mile, there are four water/Tailwind Nutrition hydration stations, with snacks and food available at one aid station. For the 5K, there is one water station at the halfway mark at the wash.

What time zone should participants use for the event?

The event is held on Navajo Nation land, which observes Daylight Saving Time. However, the race follows the time zone of Page, Arizona, which is the same as Phoenix, Arizona. Participants should manually set their phones to Phoenix time and turn off automatic time zone settings.

When is bib pickup for the event?

Bib pickup is available on the day before the event, April 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Start Line. Race morning bib pickup is also available from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM at the Start Line.
