Expect a punchy, undulating course that doesn't play nice. You’ll be navigating Mapleton National Park, which means significant elevation changes, technical sections, and creek crossings that can get tricky if there's been recent rain. Which distance should I pick?

The 50km is the flagship for a reason—it’s a proper ultra experience with a dedicated drop bag at Checkpoint 2. However, if you want a high-intensity blast that still feels like a "real" trail race, the 21km is the sweet spot. The 12km is fine for a casual weekend, but the climbs might feel a bit disproportionate to the distance.

What do I need to pack in my kit?

This isn't a "bring a water bottle and hope for the best" race. Mandatory gear is strict. You must carry a compression bandage (snake bite kit) and a hydration capacity that scales with distance (up to 1.5L for the 50km). If you are doing the 50km, a headlamp is non-negotiable. Also, bring your own cup for the aid stations; they are running a zero-waste policy, so no disposable cups will be handed out.

What is the weather like in June?

June in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland is generally beautiful but can be deceptive. Expect crisp, cool mornings—especially for those 6:00am starts—and mild daytime temperatures. The big wildcard is the shade in the national park; once the sun hits the canopy, it can warm up quickly, but the climbs will keep you sweating. Layering is your best friend here.

All entries include an event shirt and a finisher's memento. Note that there are no on-the-day entries, so don't show up expecting to register at the brewery.

What are the logistical hurdles?

The biggest thing to wrap your head around is the parking situation. You cannot park at the start/finish line at Terella Brewing. You’ll be using a courtesy bus from a designated site in Bridges. It’s a minor inconvenience that actually helps keep the venue from becoming a chaotic mess, but plan for that extra transition time in your head. All races have a 6:00pm cutoff, which is generous for most, but keep an eye on the clock if the terrain starts eating your time.
