The event features a 50-mile out-and-back course that 100-mile runners complete twice. The route utilizes the Florida National Scenic Trail and paved trails within the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway, traversing sand pine scrubs, pine flatwoods, longleaf pines, lakes, ponds, prairies, and riverine hardwoods. The course includes the Ross Prairie Wildlife Management Area, featuring the highest most southern switchback in the United States. Trail surfaces include single-track trail, sand, roots, short climbs, and paved sections. Total elevation gain for the 100-mile distance is approximately 3,124 feet.
