Known as the "Grand Canyon of the Arkansas," the route offers both raw natural beauty and historical significance as a key corridor for the early railroad in the 1870s. The challenging trail conditions make this a true mountain trail experience suited for runners seeking adventure and scenery.

What are the weather considerations for this event?

April weather is typically cooler; snow is rare but possible (as seen in 2023). Runners should monitor forecasts and be prepared to carry essential gear. Race organizers reserve the right to pause, shorten, or turn runners back if conditions become unsafe.

• →Crews are welcome at the start/finish area; parking may be limited, so carpooling is encouraged

• →No pacers are allowed for any distance

What awards are given?

• →Top 3 male and female finishers at each distance receive awards
• →All finishers receive a finisher award

What volunteer opportunities are available?

Opportunities include event setup, aid station support, timing, photography, videography, social media, course sweep, and breakdown. Volunteers earn race credits. Signup details coming soon.

What medical support is provided?

EMTs are stationed at start/finish headquarters for basic and advanced first aid. Medical officials may remove runners from the race if safety is compromised. An emergency contact number is provided to runners for on-course assistance.
