What is the course surface and terrain?
The race takes place on the Flint Hills Trail, the longest of Kansas' 3,000+ miles of public trails, following a historic rail corridor where trains operated until the early 1990s before rails and ties were removed. The course is entirely flat and fast, surfaced with crushed gravel, and all distances are run in an out-and-back format.
When and where is packet pickup?
Packet pickup is available on Friday, April 24th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mile 0 Trailhead, and on race day starting at 5:30 AM at the Mile 0 Trailhead. Pre-registering online guarantees your shirt size and saves money.

What aid stations are available on course?
Manned stations are positioned every approximately 5.0 miles, stocked with water, Hammer Nutrition HEED electrolyte drinks, snack foods, sandwiches, chips, candy, Hammer gels, and more. Unmanned water-only stations are accessible approximately every 2.5 miles, ensuring you are never more than about 2.5 miles from hydration.
What is the refund, transfer, and deferral policy?
No refunds and no transfers are offered. Deferral to the following year's race is allowed if requested at least 10 days before the event by email to the Race Director via UltraSignup, valid for one year only. Distance downgrades are allowed before the event with no refund for price difference, and distance upgrades require re-registration at the current price with credit applied.
Can I change my distance during the race?
Mid-race distance dropping down, such as from 50K to 20 Mile or 20 Mile to 10 Mile, is allowed at the Race Directors' discretion. You will not be eligible for race placement and will be recorded as an unofficial finish time.
Are awards given for top finishers?
Unique awards are provided for Top M/F Overall per distance for 50K, 20 Mile, and 10 Mile runners. The Fun Run does not include awards or placement.
