What is the route actually like?

Don't expect a grand tour of Washington. This is a pure out-and-back road course. The 5K and 10K runners will be doing multiple laps of a 0.78-mile segment, while the Half Marathoners will tackle a 3.18-mile loop six times. Olympia is a manageable drive from Seattle or Portland, but you'll likely want to fly into Sea-Tac (SEA) and rent a car.
