What are my distance options?
You have two choices: the 10K or the 21K Half Marathon. Both offer a "Competitive" pen for the fast movers and an "Open" category for everyone else. If you are a seasoned racer, the 21K is the flagship here, but the 10K is a great way to snag a quick result in a high-quality field.
How much am I going to pay?
The pricing is tiered, so timing your registration is everything. If you catch the flash sale (late May), you’re looking at a steal: RM75 for the 10K and RM95 for the 21K. If you procrastinate until July, expect to pay RM105 and RM125 respectively. Note that there is a mandatory RM4 insurance fee and delivery charges not included in the sticker price.
What's the prize situation like?
If you are fast enough to make the competitive pen, there is actual cash on the line. The 21K offers up to RM1,000 for first place, while the 10K tops out at RM700. Just a heads-up: if you are an international runner, the podium is capped at two non-Malaysians per category, so the local depth will be fierce.
What can I expect at the finish line?
Both distances get you a dry-fit event tee, a finisher medal, a timed bib, and an e-certificate. The 21K finishers get an additional specific 21K T-shirt. One critical warning: do not plan to collect your gear after the race. Everything must be picked up on race day; there is no post-race collection.
Will the heat kill my race?
November in Putrajaya is humid. You are looking at temperatures starting in the mid-20s°C with high humidity levels. Since this is a road event in an administrative center, expect wide, sun-exposed boulevards. Wear moisture-wicking gear and don't skimp on electrolytes; the humidity will sap you faster than the distance.
How much time do I have to finish?
The organizers are fairly generous with the cut-off times (COT), which helps if you are running for enjoyment rather than a PB. For the 10K, you have 2 hours and 30 minutes. For the 21K, the limit is 4 hours. This is plenty of breathing room for most recreational runners.
