This is a point-to-point descent that drops roughly 2,125 feet from the San Bernardino National Forest down to Fontana City Hall. Warning: The gravity will tempt you to redline too early. If you don't have strong quads to handle the eccentric loading of a 13.1-mile descent, your legs will be jelly by mile 10.

How do I manage the race day logistics?

The logistics are non-negotiable because of the mountain start. You cannot drive to the start line. For the Half Marathon, you must catch the mandatory shuttle buses departing from Fontana City Hall between 5:00 AM and 6:20 AM. If you miss that 6:20 AM cutoff, you are out of luck. I highly recommend picking up your packet on Friday between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM at City Hall to avoid the 5:00 AM race-day scramble.
