What is the location of the Cupid's Gauntlet?
The Cupid's Gauntlet is held in the Harker Heights/Killeen area, Texas. The start and finish are located at Stillhouse Park, approximately 9 miles east of Dana Peak Park. The actual trail running takes place within the Dana Peak Park trail system on the northern shore of Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
What distances are available for this event?
- →10K: Approximately 7 miles on a single loop
- →Half Marathon: One 13-mile loop with approximately 1,530 feet of cumulative elevation gain/loss
- →Marathon: Two laps of the 13-mile loop (~26 miles total) with approximately 3,060 feet of cumulative elevation gain/loss
- →60K: Three laps of the 13-mile loop (~39 miles total) with approximately 4,590 feet of cumulative elevation gain/loss
What are the critical requirements for participants?
All participants must carry a personal hydration device, such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. The event is cupless, meaning no disposable cups are provided at aid stations. Reusable collapsible cups are available for purchase.
What amenities and supplies are available at the aid stations?
Multiple aid stations are located along the course. The remote "Lost-n-Found" station offers limited supplies, including water, Gatorade, SaltStick, and first aid. Other aid stations provide full support, including water, electrolyte drinks, fruit, PB&J sandwiches, chips, cookies, soda, pickles, pickle juice, and first aid supplies.
What are the rules regarding pacers and running with others?
No pacers are allowed during the event. Participants who run with unregistered individuals will be disqualified.
Where can drop bags be placed?
Drop bags are permitted only at the start/finish area. They are not delivered to remote aid stations.
Are there any camping facilities available at the venue?
No tent or car camping is available at the venue for the 2026 event.
What is the schedule for race start times?
The race begins at 6:00 AM for the 60K. Staggered starts are scheduled for other distances throughout the morning.
